IC-CAP 2004 Add-on Release

  • Updated BSIM4 Modeling Package to include the BSIM4.3 Model with STI mechanical stress effects and enhancements to the toolkit's graphical user interface to make the whole BSIM4 modeling process much easier.   • New instrument drivers: E5270B 8-Slot precision measurement mainframe, E5260A 8-Slot high-speed measurement mainframe.

New Plot Optimizer

Simultaneously optimizing a large number of parameters are made easy with the new Plot Optimizer. From every IC-CAP plots, you can quickly open the Plot Optimizer, configure and perform your optimizations with a few mouse clicks.

New Data Display

The new data display with many advanced features offers new and exciting ways of displaying and editing your plots. It also provides an integrated environment to set up all of your plots together and generate fully documented reports. Imported from the powerful Advanced Design System's data display, it is a built-feature of IC-CAP.

New Optimization

Thirteen of the very robust optimization algorithms in the Advanced Design System are now available in IC-CAP.

Enhanced Extraction/Optimize UI

  • New user interface for Parameters tab and Options tab for optimization is more intuitive and simplified for parameter selections.
  • Optimizers can now remember current parameter values at the push of a button for later recall.
  • Any optimization yielding undesirable results can be 'undone' to reset the parameters to their pre-optimization values.

The BSIM3 Toolkit incorporates a new Graphical User Interface (GUI) that is consistent with the BSIM4 GUI. The extraction routines are also reorganized for consistent flows with the BSIM4 extraction routines. The toolkit's extraction flows and functions are very flexible and can be configured to a specific CMOS process.

BSIM4 Modeling Package Updates

IC-CAP 2004 supports the BSIM4v2.1. The updated toolkit allows the users to add, delete and alter the extraction functions within an extraction routine. This new update lets you to customize the extraction routines on the fly.

New/Updated Measurement Drivers

Drivers for the following instruments are added in IC-CAP 2004 release:

  • Agilent E5270 Series of the Parametric Series Solutions. Supported instruments are E5270A, E5272A and E5273A.
  • Agilent PNA B-Series Performance Network Analyzers. Newly supported instruments are: E8362B, E8363B and E8364B.
  • Agilent PNA E8361A, 10 MHz - 67 GHz.
  • N5250A mm-Wave PNA Series Network Analyzer, 10 MHz to 110 GHz.
  • Agilent 4294A Precision Impedance Analyzer.
  • Agilent 4991A Impedance Analyzer.

Other Enhancements and Updates

  • Simultaneous DC-AC Simulation with ADS Simulators. You can simultaneously perform DC and AC simulation using the ADS Linear and Transient simulators.
  • Support of SPECTRE Netlist Syntax. You do not have to convert SPECTRE netlist syntax into SPICE netlist syntax in IC-CAP 2004. The software can directly parse SPECTRE netlist syntax for simulation.
  • Parameter Extraction Language Functions. Several new parameter extraction language (PEL) functions have been added to the new release. Click here to view the new functions:
