Third-Party IC-CAP Extraction Modules

The IC-CAP open software environment allows device-modeling experts to leverage their expertise by developing and offering parameter extraction routines to IC-CAP users. Agilent EEsof EDA continue to collaborate with industry leaders in different areas of device modeling to quickly bring the latest models into IC-CAP.

Agilent welcomes industry partners to develop new parameter extraction modules in all areas of device modeling. Details about how to become an Agilent partner appear at the end of this web page.

The following models are available from third party companies who directly provide turnkey extraction routines, training, support and consulting services.

MOSFET Models

BSIMSOI Extraction Package available from Advanced Modeling Solution

The BSIMSOI Modeling Package provides all setups for DC, CV and S-parameter measurements plus PEL extraction routines to fully determine the device characteristics of deep sub-micron SOI MOS devices over a large area of device geometries.

The setups and extraction routines are open to the user for modification to fit the application. The package offers the best in modeling flexibility and capability working under IC-CAP. The package provides extraction methodologies for the BSIMSOI PD 2.22 model.

BJT Models

HICUM Aperitif Toolkit available from XMod Technologies

The HICUM Aperitif toolkit has been developed by XMod Technologies to facilitate a smooth migration from the SPICE-GP model to the HICUM model.

It is intended to provide the modeling engineers with user-friendly extraction routines of the HICUM model parameters for single-geometry transistors prior to taking on the higher level of generating scalable model parameters.

The toolkit enables foundries and fabless design houses to quickly and accurately generate the HICUM model parameters. The HICUM Aperitif is IC-CAP based and it allows user-defined extensions. The HICUM Aperitif toolkit provides extraction methodologies for the HICUM level 2 model.

IC-CAP Extraction Module Developers

The open software environment allows individuals to develop parameter extraction modules that run under the IC-CAP platform. The IC-CAP Studio enables developers to create user interface that enhances the usability of the toolkits. Several universities and third-party companies took advantage of these flexibilities to turn their work and expertise into IC-CAP products.

Agilent EEsof EDA continues to work with industry experts to develop parameter extraction modules in different areas of device modeling: passive components, Diodes, FET, MOSFET, BJT, HBT and others.
