Do You Need These
New ADS Component Libraries?
Several vendors
have created new component libraries for ADS using our library builder
tool. Here are the newest additions:
-
Samsung Electro-Mechanics - multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC)
components library. These MLCC components are useful for blocking DC
and for by-passing/coupling in mobile communication designs.
- Thin
Film Technology (TFT) - created two new ADS libraries for
filters and equalizers.
Both contain models that include layout footprints for all models.
There are over 40 vendors providing up-to-date
dedicated libraries for ADS today. If you are ever in doubt about a
component library, check our
partner’s website.

| Keep Pace with 3GPP-LTE and Mobile WiMAX
Standards
With
ADS 2006 Update 2, we’ve enhanced both of these mobile broadband wireless
libraries.
- The
updated
3GPP-LTE Wireless Library incorporates uplink receiver models
for EVM and BER measurements used in UL simulations, and more.
- The updated
Mobile WiMAX Wireless Library includes MIMO support and the
inclusion of CTC - Convolution/Turbo Coding/decoding and system
measurements with the CTC codec.
The models in each library can provide excellent algorithmic
references for new designs allowing continued verification of IP
development against “Golden Reference” models.

| WIN Semiconductors Releases New PDK for ADS
WIN Semiconductors released PHEMT(E+D mode) PD50-01 process kit that
supports complete ADS front-to-back flow. This design kit supports ADS
schematic, layout, DRC and includes microstrip lines, discontinuities,
scalable capacitors, inductors and resistors, pads, vias and active
devices (HEMTs) at multiple biases.

| Hearing Aid Compatibility Testing for
Wireless Appliances
By 2008, 50% of all mobile phones offered by a manufacturer
in the US must comply with HAC. The new release of our 3D EM antenna
modeling software (AMDS) can now evaluate the hearing aid
compatibility between Wireless Communication Devices and Hearing Aids.
Our software complies to the IEEE American National Standard Methods
of Measurement of Compatibility (ANSI C63.19-2006).
